New Shoes from Adidas already worn out

Got my shoes from Adidas in March. They’re already damaged after 4 months of usage. I use these for gym and running. Good people of Reddit, is there something you’d recommend I do differently to ensure longevity? I am also following up with the store manager to see if they can get me a refund / replacement on this. Please help out.
