Anyone is willing to share any trivia / the basic differences between pursuing hobbies / skill learning that are available to children in TS2 but not in 3?

Question/Help

I feel that I've deviated from the topic in question so feel free to talk about random stuff too

.

Recently i got a better PC and got hooked on the 3rd installment. I mostly played TH2 though, for many years. For this reason I'm lacking information about a chunk of the 3rd game; there are, sometimes major, differences that make me confused, reason being me having gotten used to a different playstyle, having formed a different kind of habits, approach to some things and so such.

Today after playing with my sims I was a little confused and I'd like to ask y'all what can be surprising or what actually did surprise you when you first encountered it. -For example: you can only read to bed to a toddler, not to an older kid (child life stage) as you did in 2nd/and after I figured it out I had no idea how to make it happen anyway, the mom just took the baby out of the crib and read sitting down, TIL on reddit that apparently the toddler must be very tired and only then you can do it, when the bar's red or something along the lines * tangent here but why does it have to be this specific? Like when you can't ask your romantic partner to move in with you because they have to deem you friendly first, how was I supposed to figure that out */ tangent over -- one of my offsprings has a virtuoso trait but couldn't get him to play any instruments while this is a norm both in TS 2 (and irl too) -- also reading skill related books, apparently not grown enough to understand (in TS2 children could read everything. In TS3 apparently Bluish Eggs with a Side of Pastrami are not age appropriate but The Murder in Pleasantview or Magnetic Attraction are a must have on every bookshelf in buy mode available freely and without any concerns whether or not they are too small lmao --- not having to bathe toddlers, just change their nappies --- toddlers not throwing tantrums when being left for but a millisecond too long in a crib when they decide to wake up --- being able to potty train on a potty that's already been used and smells bad
