Friendship Breakup
I’m gonna be really vague on what I say just incase.
I have been friends with this person for a very long time a few months now. Never had any problems and it was a genuinely good friendship. We are not the same gender (that matters later on), but it never caused us to act differently or anything like that. Recently since summer started we’ve obviously been talking more and playing online games.
So this morning I wake up to them messaging me basically saying we can’t be friends anymore because their significant other doesn’t like that we play games together.
I didn’t even know they were in a relationship, on all their social media’s there’s no mention of a relationship.
I apologize first because I genuinely didn’t know and didn’t think we were doing anything wrong. We never talked about anything weird and mostly talked about games, working, school, etc..
They tell me it’s not my fault because they thought the same thing that I did.
I think the reason their significant other was upset is because we aren’t the same gender and maybe they thought something else was going on.
But the reason I’m making this post is because they were genuinely becoming a very close friend of mine considering I don’t have many people I can call a friend. I enjoyed our time talking and playing games, but now it feels like everything was pointless.
I also want to say I am not very attracted to their gender, but I don’t think that should matter in whether or not I’m friends with a person.
I’m just very upset and I cried a little because I don’t lose friends often mostly because I don’t have a lot.
Sorry if this is all over the place.
