Children's book, mole and a bear (?) eventually fix a bridge thanks to a bent nail the mole finds

I read this in the 80s.
I think may have been Rupert the Bear but I can't see a matching description in their books.

The mole character finds a bent nail.

They go to cross a bridge, but it's broke. The mole asks if the nail will help, it doesn't.

They need wood, the axe won't sharpen. The mole asks if the nail will help, it doesn't. It needs water.

Eventually everything is sorted thanks to the nail fixing a water well handle, which then solves the other issues.

I'd like the name of the story and it left an impression on me.
