Record tourism numbers don’t reflect the reality for ordinary people.
I’m struggling to reconcile the headlines about record tourism with what I see around me. Inflation, expensive flights, and higher accommodation costs seem to be making travel harder for many people.
Could the growth figures be driven mainly by higher-income travelers taking more trips, while average households are actually traveling less?
I’d be interested to hear different perspectives.
