For those experienced in traveling how common is it to be given no guidance?

I know how to scan but what I don’t know is what the rads want as it varies depending on the location.

For example six weeks in I was told the rads like this study done like this and I asked why they suddenly made changes and I was told “they always wanted it like this I just forgot to tell you”
Seven weeks in a similar problem came up and I realized I have been doing all those studies wrong as I was not told the rads want it done a certain way here.

If the other tech doesn’t tell me what the rads want how am I supposed to know?

I then got a e-mail from my recruiter saying that some of my studies have been hard to read etc.

Is this common and what do I do about it?
