NSAID & GERD question

Hi! I have a question about Ibuprofen. I’m a 16 year old girl and I got some really bad tonsillitis that was insanely painful so I went to the hospital just to check if it was strep or viral and to possibly get some pain relief. I have pretty bad GERD, I take omeprazole, I stated that multiple times and said I can’t have ibuprofen because of GERD, because of everything I’ve been told and I’ve read, I didn’t want to risk it. The nurses said okay, understood and moved on. Well, the doctor gave me dexmethasone and Motrin. I asked her, I have GERD isn’t that gonna be an issue?? And she said no. And then I read steroids and ibuprofen mixed can be REALLY bad for stomach issues especially gastritis and GERD so I’m honestly just confused. I’m not trying to believe the internet over a doctor or anything I’m just nervous because of everything I’ve read, even here on Reddit :(
