Cocos who have migraine, How did you figure out you had one?

I’ve been having a stabbing, needle-like pain on one side of my head since yesterday. It lasts for a few minutes, goes away, and then comes back after an hour or so. I’ve never experienced anything like this before, so I’m wondering if it could be a migraine. For those who have migraines, what did your symptoms feel like when they first started, and how did you know it was actually a migraine? Did you get diagnosed by a doctor right away, or did you wait to see if it improved?
