People who have gone on a lot of first dates, how many actually led to something vs just ended there?

Whether it’s a dating app or meeting someone naturally people who have been on a lot of dates, I’m wondering if your first dates are almost always or often not? Is it a lot of trial and error for most people? Is having a lot of bad first dates normal?
