Adding resilience to a newly purchased electric vehicle

I've just bought my first EV, a French-made Nissan Micra, partly to reduce dependence on petrol stations and the sometimes hostile foreign countries that supply them.

I currently carry the following just in case:

  • A 15m granny charger cable
  • A type 2 charging cable
  • Basic tools, including small socket set, screwdriver set, pliers
  • Spare fuses and multimeter
  • Rechargeable LED torch/lantern.
  • Spare clothing, shoes, hi-vis vest
  • Drinking water and lifeboat biscuits
  • Basic first-aid kit
  • Paper maps and compass
  • Foot pump
  • Puncture sealing kit supplied with car

Unlike my previous car, this one does not have a spare wheel, which I found very useful on one occasion. If I purchased a mechanically compatible space saver wheel such as https://www.thewheelshop.co.uk/vehicle-year-2024-present-day/?product_cat=renault-5-e-tech&filter_vehicle-year=2024-present-day&searched=true

and carried it in the boot, would the police or insurance companies be unhappy about me using it to get home at reduced speed?

I'd also like to run my own diagnostics on the car to monitor its health, without invalidating the warranty. Can anyone recommend software or hardware for this?

Are there any other EV-specific things I should think about carrying in the boot of my car?
