New LG G6 65 - The smaller remote is disappointing. It's missing shortcuts

The older remotes (one of which I've ordered on EBAY) had some multi-tap shortcuts for both the mute button and the green button. I can do some of these via the ThinQ app on my phone but it would be nice if there was some equivalent on the 26GA remote. Also when I press 123 button it does not bring up a number entry keypad. I only stream to this TV (Apple TV) so perhaps the number keypad is context dependent?
