[In Progress] [800] [Southern Gothic] TGCA (pending title)

Hello! This is my first time posting on this subreddit, so I'm sorry if i wrote anything incorrectly. I'm looking for someone to read the first \\800 or so words of my novel. I currently have over 7k words written, but this is set to be the prologue/chapter 1 of my story and I want to know a few things:

Does the setting need more description?

Am I sharing too many of the MC's thoughts or not enough?

Can you tell who is going to be an important character and who's not?

The story follows a young adult named Miles who has moved back to South Carolina after his mother's sudden death. There, he learns secrets that have been kept from him since birth, struggles to make sense of his long and dark family history, and reconnects with acquaintances who seemingly know more about him than he does.

This truly is just the first scene of the story and I just want to make sure the mood is hit correctly. Any quick feedback is great.
