I snitched on my lil cousin sister.
So my dad's younger sister's daughter (let's call her M) had a chuttikali going on with a much older dude. Now M just turned 20, and this guy is 33, from a different district; she met him online through some game or something. So the first time she mentioned him, my sister told her why it would not work out. We sat her down and told her that even if the love is genuine, the guy might be looking for someone to settle down, and she is in no place to be in that kind of relationship.
From what she told us, the guy is an electrician or something. He has a mother who's battling cancer and a younger sister who's older than her. I know we shouldn't judge them from our high ground, but neither my sister nor I found it convincing enough to support her. So I told her that he might be looking to settle down with someone who would be a traditional wife who would look after his mother, and that she's way too young to be bothered about any of that shit.
Around three months back, she told her parents that she was visiting us and left her place and went to meet this guy. This guy, who's from Malappuram, came all the way to our place and took her to some shady, abandoned quarry or something which we have not even heard of. So when she came back, I told her not to do it again and why it's dangerous. I thought she might have understood the gravity of the issue, but no. Today she did it again.
This morning she called me at 11 and said she was coming home. I told her I was going out, but to let me know when she arrived so I could pick her up. It's barely 30 minutes from where she was boarding, and I waited for 45 minutes before going out to get my stuff done. I got home at 3 and still no sign of her. So I told my mom to call my aunt and ask if she was coming or not. Which was a shitty thing to do because my aunt panicked and called M, who did not answer her call.
I made it all sound like I wasn't there and I didn't know what happened when my aunt called. So when my aunt asked me to call M, I called her and she told me that she was at a different place having lunch with a friend. I didn't ask because I knew who it was, but I told her to answer Aunt's call just so she wouldn't be worried. My aunt called me back and I told her what M had told me. Now two things went wrong for M: my aunt got suspicious of why she didn't pick up her call but answered mine, and she didn't know that I had told her mom exactly where she was. I did not make it sound like she was out with a guy; I just told her that she was having lunch in another town and she was with her friends. After that, I called her, but she didn't pick up my calls.
After this whole fiasco, she calls me at 4:15 asking me to go pick her up and tell her mom that I saw two of her friends with her. I said I wouldn't be able to get there and she'd have to get to my place on her own, and because my mom knows that I'm still at our place, I can't lie that I saw her friends. At 4:25 she gets home, tells me that she was with a friend. I asked who the friend was and got no answer. She called my aunt to let her know that she reached my place, made up some lie about why she didn't pick up the call, shouted back at her mother for being overbearing, and said she was right there in town without knowing that I had already told her mom that she was in another town.
After half an hour of a shouting match with her mother, she admitted that she went to see a guy and she likes him. Now my sister is saying that I'm a hypocrite for throwing M under the bus.
