Long few days
Sorry just wanted a spot to vent. Nothing I’m going through is as bad as most of y’all’s but man I just need a spot to scream!! My wife recently underwent surgery that went well but had some complications post surgery that are very painful but should go away over time. Anyways after she woke up from surgery everything was fine then about an hour later she started getting pain in a different part of her body from where the surgery was. It came in waves and eventually went away. A couple hours later we’re about to be discharged from hospital and the pain comes back, 3x worse. She’s screaming and cant move and feels like she can’t breath (she can) nurses rush in and do there best to help but it takes hours before she isn’t shaking from the pain. A intern dr comes eventually to look at what happened, first red flag gets the surgery she had wrong by a country mile, 2’d red flag he had 0 clue looked insanely nervous and wouldn’t stop checking his phone saying he’d have to ask his resident what to do. He says we’ll come up with a plan don’t worry and leaves. Never comes back. Nurses were awesome and without them I don’t know what would have happened. Our nurse comes in and is like he left he didn’t admit you to the hospital were trying to get him on the phone and he’s not answering. Hours go by at this point it’s 11 at night and we’ve been at the hospital since before 6am we’re hours from our house (had a hotel near by) and I’m terrified to leave her side cause what happens if 2 in the morning they kick her out. Nurse comes into the room says sir you go home we still can’t get a hold of dr but your wife’s not going anywhere no matter what I’m going to make sure she stays the night. So I wait a little bit and after some begging me to leave to get sleep by my wife I left, which is the hardest thing I ever did. Different Drs eventually came to see her at 7am to say we think maybe you pinched a nerve nothing we can do but don’t worry we’ll give you a couple days of painkillers and discharged us. Oh ya also had to ask for prescriptions cause they had forgotten to give them. Anyhow watching my wife in pain along with some incompetence by professionals has made the last few days the longest and worst days of my life. She on bed rest now and doing ok, no great but ok.
Thanks for listening felt good
