Graduation togas

It shocked me when my friend (we're both seniors and will be graduating next year) said that we pay for the toga just for it to be returned at the end of the graduation.. I was like 🫪 because my friend really thought that we get to keep our togas and hood after graduation 😭. My friend even debated with me when I said togas are always returned after graduations and we just get to keep the sash from our batch graduation and my friend keeps pushing that I meant the hood was brought home 😭. Well, in the end my friend finally gave in and properly processed what we were saying and said something like "oh really I didn't know".
