I think my cat has fatty liver, I can't afford a feeding tube and am looking for advice

Medical Questions

My 11 year old female cat started hiding the night before yesterday and wouldn't eat. This is very abnormal for her. She also started drooling. I took her to the vet the next day and he figured this was all caused by two of her teeth that needed to be pulled, didn't take blood work (because she'd had it a month ago and it was perfect) and didn't do a urine test, but he said she was hydrated, had no urinary blockage, and no fever. He gave me gabapentin and antibiotics (starts with amo).

After she got the gabapentin, my cat started to eat a bit but I had to encourage her to eat and come in every couple of hours to feed her. I managed to get a whole can into her for the day (fancy feast size). She also moved around a bit instead of hiding in one place. At night she was back to not eating again and she had a big lump of drool hanging off her mouth at one point, but that was right after I gave her gabapentin.

This morning again she wouldn't eat but she ate a little after the gabapentin, though not very much. I also don't think she's drinking.

I think she must have fatty liver. I can't afford a feeding tube because I already spent thousands on my other cat. I wasn't going to get another cat because of things like this but my sister was going to give him to a shelter.

Is there any chance to turn this around without a feeding tube? I'm willing to syringe feed. I've read about syringe feeding every 1-2 hours. Is there a type of food recommendation? Thanks for any input.
