Free Blender add-on: press V, click anywhere on your mesh, the origin snaps there. Built it for game kits, works for everything
Moving origins in Blender always felt like more steps than it should be: snap cursor to selection, object mode, set origin to cursor, repeat for the next object… so I built a shortcut for the thing I actually mean: "put the pivot THERE."
Press V (remappable), click your mesh — the origin snaps to the nearest vertex, edge midpoint, or face center, whichever you're pointing at. That's the whole workflow.
Since I mostly do game assets, it also does the batch stuff that eats afternoons: bottom-center pivots for a whole modular kit in one click, origin-to-cursor across a selection, bounding-box/mass centering, and setting the pivot from your current selection in Edit Mode.
It's called Pivot Forge, it's completely free — full version, commercial use, no email wall. Link in the comments.
It's part of a larger asset-prep toolkit I've been building for months — the mirror tool from it is also free; links in the comments if you're curious.
Blender 4.0+, Windows/macOS/Linux, no dependencies. Happy to answer anything — building the modal click-to-snap operator against the Blender API was an adventure.
