I almost never get compliments : /

I've noticed that while everyone around me gets compliments, I never do even when I'm doing the same thing as the other person. For example my friend recently told me that a lot of people have been complimenting her nails because of a clear polish she's started using. I've been using that polish for a long long time and no one ever noticed or complimented me on it.

This happens all the time. I'll go to a function and everyone else will get comments on their hair or outfit or makeup or even something silly like a phone case. Even on days where I try my hardest no one says anything to me.

I don't think I'm particularly bad looking, nor am I horrible to be around (I think) but I am a little overweight. I try not to let it get to me but after so long I've started feeling like I make everything look bad. As in if someone else was wearing my makeup or clothes or hairstyle they would look amazing but on me it all looks ordinary.

Of course compliments shouldn't matter this much but it hurts every time.
