When did your baby starting taking 1.5-2h long naps? Almost 9m old
Hey folks. My youngest boy is almost 9m old and still only naps for 30 mins. Maybe once a week he will take one, one hour nap but even those don’t seem long enough for him. He either wakes up crying or wakes up in a great mood but then wants to sleep again 40 mins later. Short naps work well for some babes, but not mine. He spends 75% of his wake window unhappy and grumpy, yawning, rubbing his eyes. I am well aware of possums/have been a huge anti-sleep training advocate since my oldest was born 3 y ago so I don’t need tips, I just need hope. Hope and community in groups like these is what kept me going with my oldest who was also a tough sleeper (not this tough, but not a great sleeper either).
Contact naps don’t make a difference, my attempts to resettle for another sleep cycle nap are unsuccessful 9/10 times, pram/car seat naps are also 30 mins even if we’re still moving. It’s like the min he wakes up, he is alert and wide awake. We are taking 4x30 min naps and honestly by the end of the day he’s a wreck. I’ve tried extending ww, tried switching up our scene and activity, I’ve tried everything aside from sleep training which I’ll never do.
My oldest was the same until 7 months, at which point he just started napping for 2 hours from one day to the next. It was crazy. Like a switch went off.
So, whether you contact nap or do crib/floorbed, at what age did your baby start napping long?
