Is there any hope for me?
Body: I am writing this because I need to put my story out there. For 29 years, my life has been an unbroken chain of severe trauma, physical and emotional abuse, and complete systemic failure from both my family and society. I feel like my true self was erased before it even had a chance to develop.
- Childhood (Age 6-7): I was a highly sensitive and creative child—I could paint landscapes and write fluent classical Arabic earlier than anyone my age. But I had a minor physical condition (benign papilloma lumps on the back of my head), which made me a prime target for severe, daily bullying and physical abuse at school. I was never taught how to defend myself. At home, it was a living hell. My father was terrifyingly violent. Once, when I was 7, he hunted me down and brutally beat me in front of the whole neighborhood, throwing me against a mud wall and breaking my nose. He used to chain my older brother to an olive tree and forbid our mother from feeding him.
- Adolescence & Public Humiliation: The terror at home meant my nervous system was constantly in survival mode. In middle school, due to extreme anxiety and fear of asking the teacher to use the restroom, I had a public accident. I was humiliated and laughed at by 600 students. This completely froze my development. Shortly after, I suffered from acute appendicitis; my brother violently broke a chair refusing to take me to the doctor, and my father told me to "go find the kids you play football with to treat you." I was neglected to the point of near-death. Whenever I was beaten or bullied outside, my father blamed me, saying, "It's your fault, you must have wronged them."
- The Forum & High School: In my last year of middle school, my father installed the internet but strictly restricted its use. By chance, I discovered an online physics forum. For the first time, I found people who studied hard, and I found myself in science and physics, studying advanced topics like antibodies and immunity. But despite my hard work and success that year, the school administration corruptly forced me into a literature track. When I protested, the director told me to retake the year if I wanted science, while giving the science track to a doctor's son with lower grades. Entering high school, my mind couldn't take the pain anymore. I developed severe OCD, social anxiety, and somatic symptoms (like a fixation on the sound of swallowing saliva during exams, fearing people would mock me).
- University & The First Persona: In university, I coped by completely adopting the persona of a strong, untouchable fictional character—Polat Alemdar from Valley of the Wolves—for foresight and analyzing world patterns. For a short time, I felt powerful and happy, but it was a fragile mask.
- The Ultimate Betrayal: When that persona collapsed during a period of severe physical illness (severe herpes in my mouth and allergies), I experienced a total regression back to my childhood helplessness. A war broke out between the old me and the copied persona—everything about power and self-trust suddenly felt like "arrogance," which I never was. I recognized I needed professional help and arranged an appointment with a therapist to save myself from a forced, abusive environment. My brother intervened, blocked me from going to therapy, and forced me into a highly toxic, abusive, and degrading environment under the guise of "making me a man" and "turning me into a wolf." On the first day, when I requested to change a shattered uniform, someone told me, "If you bring your wife, I will change it for you." It was full of insults with nothing to teach; you were just a number. My closest family later justified this environment by claiming I was "spoiled." That place broke whatever was left of my spirit.
- Post-Trauma Rebuilding & Intellectual Personas: It was after this toxic environment shattered me that my mind began copying other blueprints just to rebuild a functioning intellect from scratch. I copied Walter Bishop (Fringe) and became a self-taught genetic and medical scientist without university, creating my own theories. I copied Komugi and Isaac Netero (Hunter x Hunter) to become a thinker and pattern analyzer. I copied the Scorpion series and became a cybersecurity specialist and C++ programmer. I even adopted the persona of Nikola Tesla, becoming an out-of-the-box researcher investigating complex topics like how the Van Allen radiation belt protects the Earth, alongside many other scientific anomalies.
To understand my own mind and suffering, I deeply studied psychology—devouring the works of Alice Miller on childhood trauma, Carl Jung on the collective unconscious and the integration of the shadow, and Alfred Adler on the inferiority complex.
- Current State: Today, I am dealing with the physical aftermath of chronic trauma. I have severe sound sensitivity (hyperacusis), visual snow syndrome, persistent somatic anxiety, and severe panic attacks at night. I have prayed, begged for a sign, and tried everything, but the silence feels deafening. I didn't even understand what boundaries were until I turned 34, and even now, I struggle to know what is extreme, what is too little, or where the limits are.
I struggle to find a reason to live for myself; I feel a deep, agonizing shame from the years of not defending myself against bullying and beating. There is a massive rage inside me, and the only thing locking it down is my fear of God. If people tell me to live for myself, I ask: who am I? Nothing feels left inside for me. The only thing that brings meaning is giving others what I never found. I don't judge anyone ever; I can see the inner child even in those who make mistakes, and I have helped many people.
The thing I need most is a woman to hug her pain while she hugs mine, where we accept each other unconditionally. To live for her, and to see her eyes shining when she looks at me, knowing all my insecurities and my shameful past. But the shame tells me: how can a woman love me if I have been "nothing" since the beginning? What pride can I give her from this arrested development? and all the shame i carry
Is writing a novel about my story worth it? Has anyone survived this level of C-PTSD and built a self from scratch when their identity was hijacked at age 6?
