Here is my upgraded Hakbal deck that I've upgraded over a period of a few months since getting into magic. On paper it's a strong deck but in practice it feels so painfully slow. I feel like I struggle to draw cards if I don't draw my merfolk-on-attack-draw cards. I don't struggle from board wipes as I have protection and counter spells.

It just feels so slow. Am I piloting him wrong? Is my deck missing something?

This is my Blech deck that seems to be a similar play style in the +1/+1 counter style but focused on life gain. I'm thinking about taking some green spells out of hakbal and into this deck as Blech has been much more fun for me and I have won a few games.
