Welcome to r/509thGeronimoReforger, the official Reddit community of the 1st Battalion, 509th Infantry Regiment (Airborne) for Arma Reforger.

Whether you're a seasoned milsim veteran, a military veteran, or completely new to tactical gaming, we're glad to have you here.

Who We Are

The 1-509th IN is a realism-focused Arma Reforger military simulation community dedicated to authentic U.S. Army doctrine, structured training, and immersive operations.

Our battalion consists of a variety of specialties, including infantry, combat medics, logistics, aviation, staff sections, and an attached Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) for specialized missions.

We proudly serve as Geronimo for partnered NATO Arma Reforger communities, providing organized OPFOR (Opposing Force) and PvP forces during force-on-force exercises, joint operations, and training events. Our goal is to create intelligent, adaptive opposition that helps partner units improve their tactics, leadership, and decision-making.

Our Philosophy

We believe the best training comes from disciplined teamwork, realistic scenarios, and continuous learning.

While we strive to follow authentic U.S. Army doctrine, we also recognize that nobody knows everything. We encourage humility, professionalism, and a willingness to learn from one another so that both our battalion and the wider Arma Reforger milsim community continue to improve.

Veteran Friendly

We are proud to be a veteran-friendly community with current and former service members throughout our ranks. Military experience is never required, but it is respected, and we welcome players of all backgrounds who are looking for a professional and enjoyable milsim experience.
