Today is Day 51 since I quit drinking.
I was a daily beer drinker(2-3/night, rarely more, rarely less). One day I cracked my 2nd beer on a random Tuesday night at 9pm, knowing full well I was feeling pretty tired and probably going to sleep soon. Nodding off on the couch, gut up around 930, walked to the sink with a mostly still full can, xhugged most of it and poured out the last 20% before shutting off lights and heading up.
It felt incredibly wasteful, completely habit formed, and at that moment I said let's try to go tomorrow without any. While I'm not an alcoholic by our image of what we all think, I was a daily drinker 100% of days except for bad colds. So definitely over 99% of my adult life. Time for a change.
I recall seeing people say I can expect sleep improvements, mood improvements and an overall happiness level increase. Also, possibly a little chubby weight loss. To report, my sleep still feels the same, but I am down about 8 lbs in 7+ weeks with 0 other diet or gym changes. I do feel less angry and overall happier but that could also be the summer and it's 85 and sunny everyday now, so not sure?
If you're doing the same, good luck to you on continued success. I've had 0 cravings or urges so far. This has felt quite easy but I know that's not always the case for everyone. Thanks for reading.
