HP laptop not recognizing external monitor

I picked up a low end HP laptop (mainly for word processing). I also have a HP docking station with 2 external monitors.

These were components I had for my previous job. All worked perfectly fine, but with a different HP laptop.

I setup my new laptop, plugged the dock into my laptop along with my external keyboard and mouse. Those worked fine but when I plug in either monitor, neither show up.

Ive done reboote, looked for updates etc. Nothing seems to work. Its definitely not an equipment issue, since all this stuff has worked flawlessly for years.
