About Mona's rant today
i'm wondering what the consensus on Mona's rant from today's pod is. for context i'm brazilian, race relations are very different over there because you'll have a whole spectrum of skin color and hair textures in one family (my last name is dutch, i never met a dutch person in my life, you might be able to guess why...)
but then growing up in europe we were taught kind of the same thing Mona talks about, the older generations (grandmas especially) always told my generation like "THESE (brazilians and other minorities like the cute ass cape verdeans) are your friends, THOSE are just your school colleagues". we never really felt like that though, we always took it as just old people talking.
is this something that's really engrained in America or was Mona just Mona-ing?
