Have a 1 year old that just started walking and I just realized I was basically a toddler when I was in active addiction…

I looked at my wife and said it’ll be nice when he has enough common sense to not try and do things that will hurt himself all day.. she looked at me and said you mean like you did for almost 15 years as an “adult” while you were drinking?

Well when you put it that way…. I really was acting like a one year old... Stumbling around, tripping, dropping things, not being able to communicate effectively, emotional, illogical, short attention span, weak working memory, etc.

Couple weeks ago I go out to the field to spray poison ivy and I’m basically wearing a full hazmat suit to avoid the herbicides due to the cancer risk but for 15 years I willingly ingested a known carcinogen that made me act like a 1 year old. Very strange how alcohol is treated vs other carcinogens..

Anyways, random Saturday thoughts.. IWNDWYT
