I’m currently going through a rollercoaster of emotions with my 2009 Toyota Camry, and I honestly don't know what to think.

A couple of days ago, I discovered that all the coolant had leaked out of my car. The reservoir tank was bone dry. Naturally, I assumed the worst—a cracked radiator or a busted hose. I took some pictures, left the car in a parking lot, and caught a ride home, fully bracing myself for a repair bill.

The next day, I went back, filled the reservoir with fresh coolant, and tried to drive it home. It barely made it 2–3 miles before the temp gauge started climbing toward the red. I pulled over, let it cool for an hour, and then carefully drove it to a mechanic about 5 miles away.

I explained the whole situation and showed them the pictures of where I thought the leak was. They kept my car for 3–4 hours to run a full diagnostic. They even left it idling with the A/C cranked to the max for an hour to see if it would overheat or leak.

**The result? Nothing**.

They said the radiator fans are working, the water pump is fine, the coolant is flowing, and there isn't a single sign of a leak anywhere. They didn't even charge me for the inspection because they couldn't find anything wrong.

On one hand, I’m relieved my car isn’t totaled and I didn't have to pay for a massive repair. On the other hand, I’m terrified to drive it because I know the coolant disappeared, yet the car is acting like nothing ever happened. I feel like I'm just waiting for it to strand me somewhere.

Has anyone ever had a "ghost" coolant leak like this? Should I just keep driving it and keep a gallon of coolant in the trunk, or should I be looking for a second opinion?

I don’t know if I should be happy or sad: My car is a mystery.
