Help me decide on my car
I really want to make the leap to an electric car. Sooooo motivated. I have a number of distinct problems, though, that I think are worth considering and don't know how to solve for them. Maybe an electric isn't the right car for me. I've definitely tried putting these into chatgpt and getting responses, but I think that a person's individual experience means so much more

I live in Montreal where we have terrible roads (like next level terrible -- think potholes all winter that you can't see that destroy tires). High ground clearance!

I think I want a car with a rear wiper. 0_o.

I can't have a charger in my garage. The building is too old to accommodate the charging system. I'll probably move in a year or two, so the charger situation doesn't really matter to me. But, the street electric charging is abundant where I live and my workplace is installing chargers in a year or two.

This is a car that will be dragging around a dog, a bike, skiis, etc. So I'm thinking small SUV type mostly or an SUV/cross

Paying in cash, and want to spend in the $30-45,000 (USD) range for the car. There might be some wiggle room on that, but not much.

I definitely emphasize reliability over performance.

My driving is city driving -- home to work, mostly, and occasionally longer trips.
So my questions are -- is an electric car right for me? If yes, which one do you think I should get?
