Should I start a new save?

Since the game has finally come out of Early Access with the 1.0 release, do you guys think I should start a new save?

I bought it back in February and only played for a few hours before life got in the way and I dropped it. I remember getting pretty far into the research tree and building up my base, catching like two dozen pals , beating a few Alpha Pals, and clearing the first tower boss with Grizzbolt.

Is there anything different in the prologue of the game in the full release, or should I just continue this save.

Also I did read the patch notes, but can someone give me the cliff notes of the major changes that happened in the full release? Thanks in advance!
