Best modern framework for testing a complex Chrome extension: Playwright or Puppeteer or others?

Feel free to share your ideas, case studies, or experiences with different tool

My priorities are:

1. Fast test execution
2. Modern developer experienc
3. Ability to handle complex Chrome-extension workflows
4. Low long-term maintenance

We are using WXT framework. I’m currently comparing Playwright, Puppeteer, WebdriverIO, and Cypress.

Playwright looks better as a complete testing framework, but Puppeteer seems to have deeper Chrome-extension-specific control (Based on my personal research)
