Advice for people learning how to meet others in public organically

[IT'S HAPPENING!]

I made a post about my partner coming up to me in Dupont circle by the benches and asked me out. People were blown away that you can meet someone for dating outside a dating app and I dont blame them I kinda thought the same.

I looked into public speaking and how people met before phones and apparently DC is the best place to meet someone organically and "out in the wild". Most people think its mainly settings where theres alcohol involved and that is kinda true but meeting someone sober in person is honestly one of the best feelings ever.

No loud music, no people bumping into you, no dark or dim lit environments just you, a hot guy and the ducks by the pond at the wharf or just you, the people in line at Trader Joes and a handsome man taking your number down.

Yes this does kind of freak people out because after Covid nothing was ever the same again especially with social communications but its turning back to normal rather quickly.

Heres some basics I would share for the women on how to approach/be approachable:

*Dont dress like shit, dress like you would in a casual environment, sure makeup no cake face

*Do not wear earphones, wired earbuds yes, airpods no. No idea why but my partner says women wearing airpods or over ear headphones makes it look like she doesnt want to be social or approached but wired earbuds are shitty and have 0 noise canceling so its easy to talk to someone wearing these.

*Look around you, make eye contact and smile, how is someone supposed to make the first move if you arent even aware they are around?

For the guys my partner said:

*also dont dress like shit, no suit and tie while walking around DC but decent shorts and nice t shirt or button down will get you very far, women dont like the "social media bro" Tshirt and cargo shorts and mandals.

*when you are walking around make eye contact and if a woman makes eye contact make give her a smile. If she smiles or keeps making eye contact make an approach.

*If she says no, she has a bf or is not interested move on theres plenty of women in the DC area and getting rejected is good for your confidence.

this is for both men and women:

*GO OUTSIDE!!!! Stop staying indoors after work, stop staying in on weekends if its too hot outside , you pay insane amount of rent here get your moneys worth.

*Stop rotting/doomscrolling or at least do it outside so you can multitask

*Get off dating apps, literally no one uses them except for people who like trading their mental health for nothing.

Besides that I would say just be a good person overall, if a woman is not interested do not keep asking her and move on with your day also for the women if a man is approaching you be nice as well no need to be rude and take the compliment and move on.

If anyone wants more info on this my partners and I am more than happy to answer any questions.
