Should my fiance's dad have asked?
My fiance and I are both 37 years old. We're moving in together for the first time and we're coordinating with some family and friends to borrow trucks and help load some stuff. We only asked people who genuinely want to help giving our age and it was exciting to plan the day. We hadn't ironed out all the logistics but we were working on it and my fiance's dad maybe thought we couldn't handle it because my fiance is very coddled and booked a U-Haul at a certain time that he plans to drive. It was a super kind gesture and I don't see any male intent, but I told my boyfriend he really should have offered first and not just told me what time the U-Haul would be at my house and when to be ready. I also thought giving his dad is 68. My beyoncé should drive the U-Haul since we should be more independent and my beyoncé flipped out at me. I did not raise my voice. I did not suggest anyone did anything wrong. I just said it's a better boundary to talk to me first and to let us handle the heavy lifting given our age. My first question for advice is do you think I should have mentioned it would have been a better boundary to communicate ahead of time? My second question is how do I get him to see that it was okay for me to say that if so
