Why I Finally Bought a Home Safe

For the longest time I figured a home safe was kinda overkill. I don't have stacks of cash or anything crazy, so I kept putting it off. Then one day I realized I had passports, birth certificates, extra hard drives, some family jewelry, and a bunch of stuff that would be a nightmare to replace.

That was enough to convince me.

I picked up a decent safe, bolted it down, and honestly it's been one of those purchases I never think about until I need it. Having one spot for all the important stuff is way less stressful than trying to remember which drawer I hid everything in.

Hopefully I'll never actually need it because of a break in or fire, but just knowing those important things are protected makes me feel a lot better. It's one of those boring adult purchases that doesn't seem exciting, but looking back I probably should've done it years ago.
