DAU BS-MS IT vs Nirma Integrated BTech CSE + MBA – Which would you choose?
This is written with help of Chatgpt because i am too messed up even to type. I apologise sorry
**Title:**
**DAU BS-MS IT vs Nirma Integrated BTech CSE + MBA – Which would you choose?**
**Body:**
Hi everyone,
I’m really confused between these two options and would appreciate advice from people in the software industry or seniors from either college.
**Option 1:** Dhirubhai Ambani University (formerly DA-IICT) – **5-year BS-MS in Information Technology**
**Option 2:** Nirma University – **5-year Integrated BTech CSE + MBA**
My goal is to work as a software engineer in a good product-based company after graduation, although I’m also open to management roles later in my career.
Here’s my dilemma:
From what I’ve seen, the **DAU BS-MS IT curriculum is very strong** and seems comparable to (or even more rigorous than) a BTech IT curriculum, with more focus on AI, research, and advanced CS topics.
However, it’s the **first batch** of this program, so there are **no placement records** yet.
My biggest concern is that many companies in India still mention **“BTech/BE”** in their eligibility criteria. Even if the curriculum is equivalent, will a **BS-MS** degree reduce placement opportunities during campus recruitment?
On the other hand:
Nirma has an established placement record.
The degree is a conventional BTech followed by an MBA, so recruiter familiarity is much higher.
But I’m not sure if the technical curriculum is as strong as DAU’s, especially if I want to stay in software engineering.
If you were in my position, which would you choose and why?
I’d especially appreciate input from:
DAU/DA-IICT students or alumni
Nirma students or alumni
Recruiters or people working in software
Anyone familiar with BS-MS/Integrated MSc degrees in campus placements
Please don’t just say “follow your interest.” I’m specifically trying to understand whether the **BS-MS degree title itself could become a disadvantage in campus placements** despite having a strong curriculum.
Thanks in advance!
