iOS app is completely unusable

I was a free user a year or so ago and fell off. I just downloaded the app again and went through what felt like a way more arduous login process...only to find a UI that looks like an Apple News feed threw up and no apparent log food button. Y'know, the entire point of the app. What is going on? My wife's Android has the log button at the top. Where is it on the iPhone?
