Unvaccinated Friends

Support Needed ❤️

I am a SAHM with a 3 year old and a 2 month old. One of my few SAHM friends, who I’ve been friends with for almost 15 years, also has a 3 year old. Over the years, I’ve gotten the increasing sense that my friend holds very conservative views and is potentially an anti vaxxer. This isn’t something we talk about much, so generally I enjoy her company and my toddler enjoys her toddler. Her child being unvaccinated didn’t bother me at the time, as they were at the same level of vulnerability. Now, with my 2 month old who’s still vulnerable, and the rise of measles, I’m unsure of what to do.

Now, I know I need I need to ask her in order to confirm my suspicion. My question is what to do if her child is not vaccinated? My husband is very risk averse and thinks all contact should be cut off until our infant can get the MMR at one year. Although I understand his point of view, I worry it’s too conservative. As a SAHM, I kind of need other SAHM friends. And aside from our difference in political views, she’s a good one. I think that, if her child is unvaccinated, we just can’t have them over, nor can we take the baby to their house. But somewhere like the zoo or park would be okay. Especially because we are already bringing the infant to these places, without knowing the vaccination status of those around us.

Idk, I guess I need some outside opinions and thoughts..
