Why are people praising Visage so much? Unpopular opinion.

I found the gameplay clunky, not that well made, repetitive enemy design and annoying jumpscares. Although I enjoyed some aspects of it, the atmosphere was cool but I didn’t find the game that scary after the first hour or so. Some people here say it’s the scariest game of all time, i think it’s such an overstatement when comparing to games like silent hill, outlast and amnesia bunker. Visage to me was mid at best.
