moonfruit glitch?

completely forgot to water the moo fruit the following morning and then no matter how many times i watered after, they were already dead. i tried using the pick to see if they would respawn on their own but nothing seems to work, ive tried to prompt luna to mention it again or replant the seeds but to no avail. any help or suggestions would be appreciated!
