The Flashlight I Keep Within Reach
I used to think my phone flashlight was all I'd ever need. Then the power went out one night and my phone battery was already down to like 12%. That was enough to make me finally buy a real flashlight.
Now I keep it in the same drawer by the front door and honestly it gets used way more than I expected.
It's come in handy for checking the breaker, looking under the couch for stuff the dog stole, finding screws I dropped in the garage, and even walking outside when something weird was making noise in the backyard.
The phone light works in a pinch, but a dedicated flashlight is brighter, lasts longer, and I don't have to worry about draining my phone when I might actually need it.
Definitely one of those boring purchases that ends up being useful all the time. Hopefully I never need it for an actual emergency, but it's nice knowing it's always within reach if I do.
