[PS2/PS3/PSP/PS Vita?][2007–2013]
Third-person realistic fantasy game where you cleanse darkness and restore nature
I'm trying to identify a game I played roughly between 2007 and 2013. I'm no longer 100% certain of the platform—it could have been PS3, PSP, PS Vita, or possibly even PS2.
Here's everything I remember:
- Third-person.
- Realistic graphics (definitely not cartoon, cel-shaded, or anime).
- You played as a male character I believe.
- It was an action-adventure game with both combat and puzzles.
- Parts of the game took place in dark areas, ancient ruins or caves, or large underground areas.
- Darkness or corruption covered parts of the map and prevented you from progressing.
- You had to follow glowing magical trails of light to reach the source of the corruption.
- I specifically remember the magical effects being different colors, including green, blue, yellow, and purple. I think the colors may have represented different powers or abilities.
- After defeating the corruption (possibly a boss or some kind of dark entity), the environment would instantly transform:
- Grass and flowers would grow.
- The lighting became brighter.
- Previously blocked paths would open, allowing progression.
- I vaguely remember that the darkness may have been absorbed or cleansed rather than simply disappearing.
Games that are NOT the answer:
* Prince of Persia (2008)
* Infamous
* Okami
* Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom
* Mini Ninjas
* Folklore
* El Shaddai
* Darksiders
* Darksiders II
* Kingdoms of Amalur
* Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
* Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
* The Last Tinker
* Puppeteer
* Papo & Yo
* Datura
* Sorcery
* The Unfinished Swan
* Dragon's Dogma
* Nier
* Malicious
* Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom
* The Last Remnant
I'm beginning to think it may have been a lesser-known or forgotten title. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
