29M | Bengaluru | Looking for a genuine connection that could turn into a lifetime

M4F♂️

Hi everyone,

Never thought I’d be writing something like this on Reddit, but here we are.
I’m 29, originally from Indore, and currently living in Bengaluru, where I work as a Data Scientist. I completed my B.Tech in India and later moved to the US for my Master’s in Data Science before returning to India to continue my career. Currently working in Bangalore (around 25 LPA).

A few basics:
Age: 29
Height: 5’7” (170 cm)
Location: Bengaluru (originally Indore)
Community: Agarwal
Religion: Hindu
Diet: Vegetarian
Drinking: Occasionally on weekends
Smoking: Currently quitting (and committed to leaving it behind)

About me
I’d describe myself as a simple, grounded person. I enjoy the little things in life more than constantly chasing excitement.
I’m a good listener by nature. I genuinely enjoy conversations where both people feel heard, whether we’re discussing career goals, random thoughts at 2 AM, travel plans, or just how the day went. I believe relationships become stronger through everyday conversations, mutual respect, and showing up consistently for each other.
Outside work, I enjoy travelling—especially exploring new countries and cultures whenever I get the chance. I’m equally happy with a quiet weekend, a road trip, trying a new café, or simply spending quality time with people I care about.
Career is important to me, but it isn’t my whole identity. I work hard, but I don’t want work to become more important than the people in my life.
Family-wise, we’re an open-minded Agarwal family. I have an elder brother who’s two years older than me, and my parents have always encouraged independent decisions while staying connected as a family.
As for where I want to settle—I’m currently in Bengaluru and expect to be here for at least the next few years. Beyond that, I’m open-minded. I’d rather choose a place that works for both of us than be rigid about one city.

What I’m looking for
Someone who’s kind, emotionally mature, grounded, and values honesty.
I don’t have a checklist of unrealistic expectations. More than looks, profession, or where you’re from, I value someone who’s patient, communicates openly, enjoys meaningful conversations, and wants to build a partnership where both people help each other grow.
If you’re someone who believes friendship is the best foundation for a relationship, I think we’ll get along well.
If this resonates with you, feel free to send me a message with a little about yourself. Looking forward to meeting someone genuine.
