Do third party joy-cons work good?

I was planning on buying the switch 2 for a sibling and I found a pretty affordable listing, only thing is it's just the actual screen and you have to buy the joy-con separately.

I saw the official ones are slightly pricey, do the third party ones work just as well or should I just spring or the official ones?

I know next to nothing about video games or consoles so any help is appreciated, thanks.
