How do you get ASUS to actually test for OLED burn-in? They ran pixel cleaning, filmed a video, and called it a day
I've been going back and forth with ASUS on an RMA for my ROG PG32UCDP. Posting the process in case it helps anyone else, and because I could use advice on escalating.
Burn in is only clearly visible on a uniform mid-grey field (~60% grey). That's the standard way to inspect an OLED for burn-in and uniformity issues. On normal content — desktop, games, video — it's much harder to see, because moving, high-contrast content masks it. I told ASUS this explicitly and repeatedly.
ASUS's response after the unit arrived:
The video shows the monitor running full-motion content — not a static, full-screen grey test fields. That's like checking for a windshield scratch while driving through a car wash. Of course you won't see it. They tested for the one thing that wouldn't reveal the defect I reported, ran a pixel refresh cycle on top of it, and ready to send it back. Anyone has experience with their warranty?
