Apple Watch vs Oura Ring
Hi there! My husband (28M) and I (27F) are in cycle #1 of TTC #1.
For some context: as my user flair here suggests, by day I’m a clinical pharmacist (PharmD) working in home infusion and I have a PGY-1 focused in outpatient/ambulatory care pharmacy. My husband is an IT guy. He is a cloud software engineer at his company and does a lot with programming.
As you can see, we’re both not just healthcare oriented, but we also love the technology out to try for a baby nowadays. I was using Mira for cycle tracking prior to TTC, but then realized inito does the same thing for less money and it was cheaper to change to inito than to buy wand refills right now for Mira so I’m changing to that. Also wands for inito are much cheaper too so it’s a long term thing that is cheaper.
One thing I wanted to use my Apple Watch for (I have the series 10? I think? Unsure? But I know it tracks BBT) was BBT tracking but I just hate wearing it only at bedtime because I use it during the day and the battery does not last all night and all day.
How well does Oura track BBT? And is it worth it? I don’t want to buy a whole new device because my watch is great but I also don’t like the fact it’s only tracking BBT at bedtime and that it doesn’t allow for sufficient daytime watch use.
Any experience with both? With just one of the two? I could really use some input. Thank you! ❤️
ETA: I forgot to mention that yes, my husband is in IT and can give recs on this, but he’s an “Apple interface only” kind of man, so he’d just tell me to use the watch because of that reason only. I’m looking for those who have used one or both for BBT and fertility tracking and can give me a good (unbiased) frame of reference - thank you!
