What about me is causing these social situations where I'm always wanted/valued but never chosen?
I am 28. Please don't read any of this as being egotistical, I'm simply repeating my experiences and things told to me.
As a child, I was very popular in school. Every school I went to in fact. People genuinely liked me. People were even disappointed to find out I wasn't in their class. Yet I was never invited to any party or event.
As a child and a teen, everybody would come to me for life advice and mental health advice. Even adults. Strangers would open up to me. I remember my uncle telling my Mother it's just like speaking to an adult not a child
Other teens would say "I know you don't know me but I feel like you're the only person who could help me/understand"
I spent many nights as a teen messaging classmates helping with their issues, relationships and I've stopped a few people committing suicide.
"You are the most genuine person I've ever met" or something along those lines is something I've heard alot
Even now, strangers open up to me. I've had first dates and the woman tells me stuff and says "I don't know why I opened up this fast"
I work at an ice cream parlour and some customers have joked that I'm their therapist cos they come to get ice cream and open up to me and ask me for advice
Teen kids come to me and tell me all about their issues and days at school
One customer is In a parasocial relationship with me and posts pics of me/writes about me on Facebook
In terms of relationships I'm always heavily desired and wanted but never chosen
They tell me I'm hot
They have sex with me
They date me
These women have said they've never felt so seen before In a relationship and it's the best sex they've had and my communication and attentiveness is more than they've ever had
But they all bail before commitment but can commit before and after to me, sometimes to people they've known for not long
I am never friendzoned but I've never been committed to once
One women even said "what you offer is too good and it's scary to lose so I only choose relationships with less"
One said "you've changed my entire outlook on relationships"
But couldn't commit to me. Last month I nearly was with somebody and she said "you are my want, I've never felt this level of attraction and connection so fast before it's so unusual for me" and then left me
I've had two women (family friends) attribute me to making them re-evaluate their own relationship just by being around me
And in terms of women who decide to try to slip me their number when I'm working
It's always married women
Or disabled women
Or 17yo girls (whom I turn down obviously)
Idk what's going on. My Mother said to me today "Everybody puts you on a pedestal and I don't know why"
Yet I have nobody. No friends of my own. No relationship. No place. Just my parents.
And nobody has been there for me like I am for them. Even if I talk about my issues to somebody, they just give very bare bones. I sit with people for hours.
