Rhaenyra being casually put in check and remembered who Corlys is
Corlys is the guy who clashed with the King for not marrying his 13yo daughter, in the very second episode, stormed out the Council and started his own war.
Then made Viserys drag himself to Driftmark sick and tired to ask for a Laenor and Rhaenyra marriage, and wasn't even there to receive him on the door, Lyonel calls out how this was a slight.
The guy called her Princess in her war council and made a whole scene before declaring for her, just to show how important he and his House were.
She had to send Baela to offer him the position as Hand, she wouldn't be able to face him at that moment. And he only accepts because of Rhaenys' legacy, he even made that clear to her after she thanks him for his support in the S02 finale.
And he doesn't even like her, roughly hates her, he had said months before to Rhaenys how she was complicit with Laenor's death and "destroys everything she touches".
The man is powerful, ambitious and extremely proud, she is learning that having people like that at your side also has a cost.
