Question (Haven't started yet)
Hello all,
I have a question. I am a man in my mid 40s and I'm in terrible shape due to not looking after myself (but that's a story for another day). I recently approached a colleague who I know practices BJJ and I asked him if taking it up would be feasible and/or safe at my age. He advised me against it, given my age.
Don't get me wrong, if that's the case then so be it. However, is it really too late to take up BJJ in your 40s? Granted, I'm not in good shape as I previously mentioned, but I'm otherwise reasonably healthy for a man of my age. I had hoped that taking up something like BJJ might help me with my overall health and fitness. I suppose I could join a gym, but that really doesn't appeal to me and I'd rather learn something new while (hopefully) improving my fitness
Thanks for reading. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
