Thr bear gets one thing a 100% right: aunts and uncs you really just dont know how to explain
One thing The Bear gets a 1000% right is the collection of random adults who somehow are family. They're not actually related to you, but they are just your people.
When you have to explain them to your college boyfriend, you literally have no idea how and end up saying smth like "Oh yeah, that's Uncle Jacky. No, he's not in any way blood-related to us. But of course he is my uncle" and when they answer confused, you get offended "just bc he isnt my moms or dads brother, doesnt mean he isnt my uncle!!".
Mapping out the relationships would look like a conspiracy board with with red string connecting photos to any outsider. And dont even try explaining why some random aunt is mad right now at some non-cousin (do they even remember why?)
But they're your heart. You grew up with them, you love them, and one of your kids is gonna get their second name after them. And I feel like so many of us grew up with families like this, and The Bear is one of the only shows I've seen that captures it without ever needing to explain it. The fact that they never even for a second explained uncle or basically any of the guests of the famous christmas dinner just made it sooo reliable.
Cant think of any other show that got it right like this!
