Personal in-universe headcanon as to why Shadow never used guns after Shadow '05.

I think that after defeating Black Doom, it occurred to Shadow that guns were also used to kill Maria and he wanted to be better than that. Hence why he rarely if ever uses them after the 2005 game. Am I the only one who has thought of this?
