Looking for a sensible discussion about the doubts I and others have in Christianity
Long ahh paragraph incoming
I wanna believe in God, its so much better to do things which I already want to do and which i will likely inevitably do while also believing in a life after death and salvation for all good. I agree with the teachings of christianity on most aspects and i agree with the moral code and want to abide by it. But i simply cannot get past some aspects which may disprove christianity but people overlook blindly to trust in God. Why do small kids, who have done nothing wrong, get cancer and die before they are born, something humans had no impact in. Why do parenta who are kind as can be lose a baby during pregnancy, or are sterile. If God was all good, wouldnt he have prevented this as it is of no fault of humanity. I understand the no stopping of wars, as that is sadly part of the deal to give us free will, but even if humans were perfect they simply couldnt stop some of tragedies taking place, tragedies which an all loving god couldve prevented. Also why for most of humanity did God only reveal himself to the Israelites. Why did it have to be humans to shows them salvation when they went to the americas. Why would an all loving God only reveal himself to a select griup, instead of trying to help everyone. The way christianity spread lends itself more to a cultural phenomenon created by man spreading, than a true god. Lastly why is there such little evidence for Jesuss miracles. This is the most minor, but if a man rose someone up rrom the dead and made the blind see, then surely there should be some other evidence other than the Bible. Id understand why there would be none, given the time period, but these inconsistensies only fuel the doubt. My final doubt is that in a generation which is getting more and more educated and able to think on their own, more and more of them are leaving the church. Is this because it relied on lies which they were able to disprove through their education, or is it simply because they are getting more self centered and are unable to understand the need to do something for anyone else.
